  Shree Ramkabir Mandir History
  Brief History
Shree Ramkabir Mandir Carson, California is the first temple established by the Bhakta Samaj outside of India, and is dedicated to the universal teachings of Satguru Kabir and Hinduism. As the Bhaktajan migration increased and many decided to settle in the USA, there was a sheer necessity to have a place to gather and practice the traditional "Bhakta" way of life. This need was recognized in the late 1970s by the early pioneers, the "vadils" or the elders, who set the Samaj in the quest of establishing a place of their own. Under the Satguru Kabirji's "chhatra chhanya", Shree Ramkabir Mandir was established in October 1990. Its establishment was blessed by Mahant Shree Ramswarupdasji and Pujya Maa Sarveshwari. The Mandir property, formerly Carson Elk's Lodge, was acquired in 1991. It was inaugurated in 1994 on the Kabir Jayanti day by Mahant Shree Ramswarupdasji after extensive renovation and remodeling that spanned well over 8 months. The dedicated and humble Bhaktajans came day-in and day-out and did their "karni"-selfless work with "tan, mann, and dhan" (physical, mental and monetary) in accordance with Satguruji's teachings. It is now open and welcomes all.

Now, it has well over a thousand books collected regarding the "Shabad" in Gujarati, Hindi, and English. Also, several audio and/or video tapes of inspiring talks on or about the "Shabad" are also collected in the library.
